The art pieces featured at Sheer D Lite are primarily painted on silk, and hemp-silk blend material. Using dyes rather than paint allows light to pass through the Silks, creating the appearance of stained glass, and communicating some of the vivid, organic beauty of Nature.
Working together to create just the right piece for clients, students or groups is the goal. Themes are laid onto traditional Sacred Geometries, allowing a balance and harmony to radiate from the Silks. The message is akin to the silent transformation of Natural elements, Meditation, or Mantric techniques.
Appearances for the Interactive Silk include the Sugar Loaf Arts Festival, Red Hawk Native American Arts Council, the University of Utopian Directions World Fair, fundraisers and other educational venues such as temples and chuches.
Exhibits include displays at the Varga Gallery in Woodstock NY, the Bertoni Gallery in Sugar Loaf NY, the Empowerment Center in Goshen NY, as well as during speaking events for Susun Weed, Charles Eisenstein, and the Pachamama Alliance. Published illustrations include “Addy Gets Made” (Allipoo Press, 2004) and “World Womb: 2012 ” (Panenthea, 2008) (see www.worldwomb.com).
